Basic Tees: Anything But Basic!

We are OBSESSED with basic tees right now! Nothing beats a perfect staple piece, right?? Every woman needs staples in her wardrobe she can always rely on to fit well no matter how many times it’s washed, to be soft, and to be not only versatile enough to be worn with or under anything, but also a beautiful blank canvas on its own.

We LOVE the basic tees from Fifteen Twenty because they come in so many different styles–V-necks, scoop-necks, ribbed, smooth, long-sleeve, short-sleeve, cold-shoulder, poncho style and with various hems…they’re just about the most versatile tees ever! They are made from beautiful high-quality fabric, so they wash beautifully and always keep their shape. And did we mention how SOFT they are?? You won’t want to take them off!

Groceries Apparel is a new eco-conscious tee-shirt line that we found the perfect fitted tee AND they have so many other great styles to choose from.  They are handmade with love, light and good vibes in California with organic materials that aren’t treated with pesticides, insecticides, herbicides or GMO’s. These toxins are harmful for farmers and workers and US as consumers and our entire wildlife eco-systems.   We just received the basic crew and basic V-neck tees in 4 colors and a tank, but have other styles coming in soon!

Groceries Apparel tees are made with Love!

We love throwing a basic Fifteen Twenty or Groceries Apparel tee under anything and everything–vests, jackets, button-ups…even sleeveless dresses that you’re dying to wear but usually have to save for warm weather! As much as we like to use these basic tees as layering pieces, we also LOVE to wear them by themselves and get creative with the blank canvas! Pair a basic tee with distressed skinny jeans and funky jewelry for a laid-back, casual-chic look! Or pull out that denim skirt and a pair of wedges for a fun Summertime look. Be daring and pair a basic tee with pants that have a bright, bold pattern. The possibilities really are endless!

Basic tees are the unsung heroes of our wardrobes–they do not need the spotlight, but are much better at letting other pieces shine in a way that they perhaps could not have done without the perfect layering piece. Or perhaps that bold, colorful necklace would not sparkle quite as brightly if it were not up against a basic and solid–but no less beautiful–backdrop. As they say, sometimes we have to “get back to the basics” to build a solid foundation, and basic tees are the perfect way to build your wardrobe and spark creativity! So…basic tees are really anything but basic–just like your story. We hope that we’ve inspired you to “get back to the basics” and get creative!

Romp In Your Romper!

We are feeling the heat right now at Inspire Me! And right now, just like the weather, the romper is HOT, HOT, HOT this season!

Necklace by Vanessa Mooney and Earrings by Mashka

Oddly enough, the romper actually started out as a casual garment for children in the 1900s. Their function was to give children more freedom of movement while playing, a departure from the restrictive clothing of the Victorian era. Think “romp”–it means “play,” right? Later, during the 1950s, rompers became popular for women in leisure-wear and beachwear. In the 1970s they reached their full popularity and–lucky for us–retailers began to offer them in a wider variety of materials, versus the terrycloth prototype that endured for a few years. The romper came to represent the fashion-forward, modern woman with a boho-chic twist.

So goodbye restrictive Victorian clothing! We can’t resist that freedom of movement and the convenience of one layer right? Not to mention that they keep us cool in the summer sun. And you better believe we make it look good! Nowadays, the possibilities in styles, colors, prints, and structures for the romper are endless!  You can go casual with an easy, laid-back style;

you can do a throwback to those original rompers and go with a boho-print;

you can rock a sleek and sexy style with a strapless piece (don’t be afraid to throw on a strapless bra or bandeaux!);

or you can go for a girly, flouncy look that’s perfect for fun in the sun;

or show a little skin with a flirty open-back!

So there’s a romper for every personality and body type–casual and sporty, sassy and chic, girly and flirty; there are fitted and flowy styles, rompers that zip, tie, and button; styles with pockets or no pockets; strapless or tank-style straps; open and closed backs. Accessorize to your heart’s desire–dress them up for the perfect nightlife outfit with heels or wedges, dress them down for a casual get-together with sandals or fun flats. Even rock a pair of booties! Some rompers come with built-in accessories, like a front zipper or buttons, cute grommet-work, or eyelets; your jewelry supplements your story! There are no rules! Whichever irresistible style you choose, the romper has your back.

So get inspired–the romper is a blank slate! Tell your story. Be chic and sassy, girly and flirty. Move freely and play!

Enjoy the Weekend!

Keeping it Cool

Welcome to Inspire Me Boutique’s blog!  Today, we hope to inspire you with Summer style trends that will help keep you “cool” the next couple of warm, wonderful months.

Get these gorgeous pieces from Weston Wear this season.   The line is full of vintage-inspired floral prints, flowy mesh printed tops and maxis. These styles shown here are a few of our favorites.  Nothing over-the-top here, in fact, the colors all seem to appeal to everyone’s color tastes.   From the watercolor palette of soothing aquas and neutral beiges combined with pops of coral red.

A fit and flare style dress and a fringed lattice tank paired with a short sporty styled skirt, these two look like they need to head to the club for lunch on the Veranda.  They are such classic styles that I see having in your wardrobe of years to come. The model on the left is Sarah and she is wearing necklaces and ring/bracelet by Chan Luu and the model on the right is Brittany and she is wearing a necklace by .hila Designs.  Both girls are wearing earrings by Rachel Marie Designs.

014_2855cccub2sizedStill keeping it cool wearing summer style trends, but looking a bit more mischievous and very “fashionable”,  the girls are both wearing asymmetrical ribbed tanks by Red 23 in different colors.

On the left, Brittany is wearing a silver beaded bracelet by Trades of the East and earrings by Rachel Marie Designs and on the right, Sarah is wear a beaded cuff by Pin and Tube and a silver wrap cross bracelet by Chan Luu and earrings by Elisabetta Ricciardi Jewelry.

The silver metallic jeans that Sarah is wearing are by Lauren Vidal and the Dark Denim Skinny yoga jeans that Brittany is wearing are Yoga Jeans by Second Clothing.

Horn Pendant Necklaces are a huge trend right now and Sarah is wearing one that I picked up on a recent trip to New York with a silver laser cut clutch by Buco Bags.  Tassel Necklaces are another huge trend as well and Brittany is wearing a cross one by Zacasha and a crossbody tasseled bag by Chen and Derington.

We always have so much fun doing these photo shoots with our wonderful photographer Brooke from Ashley Beige Photography!

And Salon Rouge for doing the hair and makeup!

A Rising Star for Fashion

The goal of the photo shoot this week, was to keep it simple and show the beauty of the clothing and accessories.  We had a lot of great poses for our Rising Star Gabrielle because she has the look of several famous supermodels that we had seen in some of the past fashion shoots that we have done with her.  One in particular that I quickly shot of her on the back porch of the store last summer reminded me of a “Calvin Klein” ad because of her natural beauty.

With this outfit, I needed to use a bootcut jean because they are back in style and I wanted to show this look for the current trend.  These particular jeans that Gabby is wearing are by Dish and they are currently on SALE at the store!

014_1148bcdefghiSIZED234Thank goodness Spring is finally arriving this week and a great pair of sunglasses as a must!!   These darling tortoise shell  “the Rita” style by Equipment look great on everyone.  She is also wearing simple crystal drop earrings  by Bud to Rose that go with every outfit.

FLORALS, FLORALS, FLORALS!!!!   They are a HUGE fashion trend right now and it is such a relief from all our black that we have and LOVE so much!  This beautiful floral top is from Weston Wear and I added my favorite colorful threaded jewelry from Lee Angel.

With this outfit, I wanted to use the black floppy hat that we have had FOREVER for fashion shows, displays, etc and this AMAZING jacket by Zelda because it is one of my absolute favorite pieces in the store (yes, it IS black).  When I was in New York last market, all the girls were wearing these hats, so I just HAD to use this hat with “THE JACKET”!

The cute little cropped top by Alice and Olivia creates a bit of whimsy to this solid black outfit and simple jewelry always works well with every outfit, like this pretty 3 crystal ring by Bulatti.

Seriously? How SPECTACULAR is this Jacket?

Gabby looks so chic in this Isidora jacket by Zelda and these awesome, comfortable pants by Ronen Chen.  She is wearing another pair of sunglasses by Equipment in this great oversized Lana style.

We are all crazy obsessed with these COOL crystal feather earrings by House of Harlow 1960.  We have had these awhile and can’t believe that we still have them in the store.  I had to chose these for this shoot along with this simple crystal bar necklace by Bud to Rose.

This breathtaking set of brushed gold jewelry shown here is from the Versailles Jupiter Collection from Brighton.

Our new Amabel Box Pleat Skirt Dress by Alice and Olivia in this beautiful floral print works beautifully with the gold accessories.

Last, but certainly not least, is this stunning embroidered and beaded statement jacket by Alice and Olivia that I also chose to style for this post.

I wanted to add to the glamour of this jacket by accessorizing to it with a little bit of bling like this stretch cross bracelet by Bud to Rose, 3 matte silver bangles by Holly Yashi, heart shaped earrings by Brighton and a chunky crystal ring by Bulatti.

One of the biggest accessories right now are TASSEL NECKLACES and we received some stunning ones in recently from Zacashi out of Miami, Florida.  Here Gabby is wearing 2 styles, 1 neon single strand and the other is a pearl and black set with 1 short and 1 long necklace.  She is wearing a wonderful sleeveless lace top by Yoana Baraschi underneath the jacket,  black sheen pants by Ronen Chen and carrying a woven oversized crochet bag.

I hope you that you enjoyed this post as much as we enjoyed making it.  As you saw in the photos, you can understand why I chose the name of this post.  Gabrielle IS a Rising Star in Fashion modeling in the near future.

I hope that we inspired you!!

Thank you Brooke from Ashley Beige Photography for these jaw-dropping photos!!  You are simply amazing!!!!

Thank you Gabrielle Ravotto for modeling for Inspire Me again!!  Your beauty exploded in these shots!

February Dreams of Spring ahead!

As many of us look out our windows this time of year, we see snow-covered trees and buildings.  We wear big puffy coats, hats, boots and mittens to keep warm from the Polar Vortex or Linus and such.

But in the retail world, the stores start getting Spring merchandise starting in January into February, regardless of the storms that may arise. So come SHOP with us!  It is RETAIL THERAPY to get you out of the winter blues.

One of our absolute favorite lines is Weston Wear.  They use the most beautiful fabrics and the styles are so pretty and feminine.  Just like we love them at Inspire Me Boutique!

This floral ruffled pique sweater top with the jeweled neckline is perfect style to brighten up anyone’s day!

Two MUST HAVE pieces, of course, are a great fitting pair of jeans and the “bag of the season”.

We all personally love Mia and Moss jeans because the fit is amazing and they do not stretch out.  Samantha is wearing the Sabine Skinny style in the Indigo Wash.  We sell them so well not only because of the fit but because of the price at $99!

We just got back from New York market and every handbag designer was showing a laser cut design bag.  We have been carrying Buco Handbags for a few months now and love how lightweight and beautifully made they are.

Here Samantha is carrying the East/West Carriage tote which is a vegan leather tote with a faux suede lining with an intricate pin wheel laser design on the front center of the bag.

Pearls always compliment every outfit!  We chose these pearl and crystal earrings by Brighton, pearl and crystal ring and two leather tube and silver wrap bracelets by Gawdybobbles

It IS the month of February!!!  L-O-V-E  How will you show your LOVE this month?

Nothing speaks Spring more than the color of white and lace.

Johnny Was Collection does romance better than anyone.  The exquisite embroidery and beautiful detailing on every piece of clothing that they make keeps everyone loving it season after season.

We layered the Palomino Swing Tank underneath this embroidered Peplum Hoodie to give her a very romantic look.  Accessorizing in pearls and tan leathers like another laser cut diamond leather bag by Buco Handbags gives it more of a bohemian vibe.

Samantha’s crystal headband is by Deepa Gurnani and gorgeous stretch bracelet by Elisabetta Riccardi.

All the things that make you think of February are captured in this beautiful picture by our amazing photographer Brooke from Ashley Beige Photography

Large oversized pearls in earrings and pendant necklaces are so on trend this season and it looks so feminine and beautiful without looking too “cute”.

The Jade Shift Dress by Weston Wear looks so stunning and sophisticated paired with these grey snake-skin wedge sandals and sequined zipped clutch.

Come Dream of Spring with Inspire Me Boutique!

I hope that we Inspired you!!

Thank you to our gorgeous model Samantha Miller and our wonderfully talented photographer Brooke from Ashley Beige Photography!

“High Beams”

Last weeks photo shoot was on one of those gorgeous days that you just wanted to bottle up and keep forever!!

I had a catalog from one of my vendors that did a shoot in an old garage with a vintage car and such but……Brooke (my wonderful photographer) and I are still working on this one…..I thought we could still do a more contemporary version of it outside the store in our parking lot.  We used my car because the colors are of course Black and White (I have REALLY been trying to use color, I swear!)

Well, I will tell you, I was blown away when I saw how beautiful Emily looked in the above photo, after Brooke sent it to me!!  It was WAY better than the catalog shoot that I saw and I hope that you all like these pics as much as I do!!

She is wearing black chandelier earrings by Chan Luu and a double hook bracelet by Ambre Babzoe.

The beautiful model is Emily Sroda who will graduate from Penn High School this weekend!  She is wearing a black and ivory striped top by Lauren Vidal and snakeskin print pants by Simon Chang.

I chose to belt this top with a soft taupe leather belt by Hoss Intropia to give a little contrast from the black and white plus it cinched the waist so that it wasn’t so baggy looking.

Giving the top a little more elegance, this long chiffon skirt by Lauren Vidal was perfect.

Until next week!!

I hope that we inspired you!

Special thanks to the amazing Brooke from Ashley Beige Photography and beautiful Emily Sroda for modeling!

Congratulations on your Graduation Emily!!!
